Precious Lives
Precious Lives is a series of public service posters about the protection of marine life. Thin red rope is used to outline the forms of a sea turtle, a jellyfish and a whale. The rope binds and suspends each creature to show that marine animals are endangered by waste thrown into the ocean. The illustrations are drawn with vector design software and produced with high level printing technology. Each printed sheet measures 800 millimeters by 800 millimeters. The exaggerated imagery is intended to draw public attention to marine ecology.
Precious Lives Illustration by Yang Yunjia has been featured as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Precious Lives Illustration received the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which recognizes outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
