Flowering Street
Flowering Street is a charity brand identity created to support homeless people in London. The brand lets homeless sellers earn an income by selling flowers at ordinary market prices, instead of relying on donations. The logo shape is inspired by street signs in London, a reference to the term street friends used among people who sleep outdoors. Each bunch of flowers is wrapped in collected old newspapers, tied with natural hemp rope and given a thank you card. Recyclable natural materials keep packaging costs low, so more sellers can be supported.
Flowering Street Charity Project Identity by Mingjun Jiang has been selected as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Flowering Street Charity Project Identity earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which rewards outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
